Florida Mod Pizza adds human resources director

Mod Pizza has hired Shay Carver as its human resources director for Florida, according to BBX Capital, Mod's exclusive franchisee for the state of Florida.

Carver will be responsible for developing people solutions and strategies that align the franchisee's operational goals and organizational culture, according to a press release. The franchise has a goal of developing up to 60 units throughout the state over the next five to seven years.

"We are pleased to welcome Shay to our organization," said Brick Kerge, vice president of operations for Mod Pizza in Florida, in the release. "Shay is a seasoned human resources leader with strong restaurant industry experience and she will help us build our MOD Squad team throughout the state."

Carver comes to BBX Capital as a human resources executive with more than 19 years of human resources experience. Prior to joining BBX Capital, she served as director of human resources for Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews for more than 12 years where she was responsible for providing strategic human resource leadership in areas such as leadership development, succession planning and talent acquisition. She is PHR and SHRM-CP certified and has a bachelor's degree in human resources management from Saint Leo University.

Mod has more than 235 locations across 23 states and the United Kingdom.

BBX Capital is planning to open four Florida MOD Pizza locations in 2017, with locations already confirmed in Parkland, Coral Springs, Kendall, and Jacksonville.
