Firehouse Subs has announced that its Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is a 2010 Angel Award recipient. The award is given by the South Carolina Secretary of State each year to 10 non-profit organizations. The honor was presented Nov. 17, and highlighted the impact made by the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation to the state – more than $384,000 donated to public safety entities in 26 communities since 2007. Firehouse Subs has 41 locations in the state.
“We are honored to be acknowledged by the secretary of state, and would like to thank him for this incredible recognition,” said Robin Peters, executive director of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. “Thanks to our customers generous donations, we have significantly impacted South Carolina communities.”
In 2007, Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation made its largest donation to date of $104,245 in South Carolina, benefiting the city of Charleston Firemen Fund. Within the past four years, the Firehouse Subs foundation donated more than $384,000 to 26 local public safety entities in South Carolina.
The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation was created in 2005 with the mission to provide funding, live-saving equipment and educational opportunities to aid first-responders. Through the non-profit organization, Firehouse Subs has given more than $2 million to fire and police departments and EMT organizations.
