Firehouse Subs opens 50th location in 2008
December 15, 2008
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Firehouse Subs has opened its 50th restaurant for 2008 in Columbia, S.C.
This is Judy and Charlie Divita's fourth Firehouse Subs restaurant in the Columbia area. The other locations include Irmo, S.C., Lexington, S.C., and downtown Columbia. In 2006, Judy and Charlie were awarded the Firehouse Subs Franchisee of the Year award.
The new restaurant seats 38 people, and features donated gear, such as boots, jackets and firefighting hats and photos, from the Columbia Fire Department. Like all Firehouse Subs restaurants, the new location features a hand-painted mural. The mural depicts the silver fox mascot from Dutch Fork High School in Irmo, S.C., and the yellow jacket mascot from Irmo High School spraying each other with fire hoses while a firefighter is in the middle.
