Firehouse Subs expands into Kansas City

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Firehouse Subs has announced plans for expansion into the Kansas City, Mo., area. The introduction of the Firehouse Subs brand into this new market is part of a deal that will bring 26 Firehouse Subs franchises over the next five years.

Spearheading the development is 27-year restaurant veteran and Kansas City native Joe Garcia. As an area representative for the new market, Garcia will be responsible for selling individual locations to franchisees, who typically operate one to five restaurants and oversee day-to-day operations.

Garcia's first Firehouse Subs restaurant is slated to open this September.

Prior to joining Firehouse Subs, Garcia was the director of operations with Sonic Drive-Ins in Kansas City. He also served as a corporate field services consultant for Sonic Industries in the central region, and was responsible for compliance training in marketing, human resources and operations for more than 200 drive-ins in four states.
