Fazoli's received the COEX Innovation Award for Marketing/Service for its ongoing fundraising efforts and food donations to Feed the Children. The company has donated more than 12 tons of food to the childhood hunger relief charity and has raised nearly $200,000 in cash, according to a company press release.
COEX Innovation Awards acknowledge chain restaurants with inventive ideas in the areas of culinary, operations, marketing and service. Fazoli's was nominated by Rich Foods and the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association members vote determined the winners.
Fazoli’s also introduced its next generation products and service style at its 15 Lexington, KY locations.
The products launch amid the company's fifth straight year for growth among franchised and company locations, with franchisees reporting a 7.3-percent jump for the year and 3.2-percent increase for company units' same-store sales growth.
The revamped menu features Primo Submarinos sandwiches, a new line of salads called inSALADas, new Signature Pastas and Signature Pizzas, and a create-your-own pizza option. The company upgraded the quality of ingredients across the menu with the addition of a new salad base and a new pizza crust, according to the announcement.
