Fazoli's taps former Wal-Mart exec for key finance role

February 10, 2017

Three finance executives are filling new leadership roles at Fazoli's. The list includes Wal-Mart's former Senior Director of Global Treasury, David Hasler, who is taking on the CFO role at the Lexington-based brand, according to a news release.

Hasler will oversee the Italian fast casual's finance, accounting, financial planning and analysis, information technology, payroll and legal services departments.

Also returning to Fazoli's, in the newly-created role of VP of financial planning and analysis, is Spencer Houlihan. He most recently worked at University of Kentucky Healthcare, but had previously worked at Fazoli's as a senior financial analyst.

The company also promoted Tracy Haskins, a CPA, to the role of finance and treasury VP. She has been with the brand for 20 years, according to a news release.

"Tracy and Spencer are company veterans who have played an integral part in our success, while David brings a wealth of financial experience and expertise to the CFO role," Fazoli's President and CEO Carl Howard said in a news release. "We are in the midst of capitalizing on incredible franchise growth and 15 consecutive quarters of positive same-store sales, and I can’t think of better leaders to be at the financial helm during this exciting time."

The three are assuming key finance roles at a time when the brand's franchisees are currently experiencing nearly three times the industry average growth rate, according to a news release. The chain has nearly 220 locations in 25 sites, and is in the process of expanding its franchise network.
