Fat Brands, parent company of Fatburger sister brand — Buffalo's Express — has announced a master franchise deal to open 50 co-branded restaurants across Texas.
"We are continuously looking for ways to cultivate our brand domestically and internationally, and are enthusiastic about our presence expanding into Texas and the Southwestern United States," CEO Andy Wiederhorn, said in a company press release. "Finding partners that share our core values is crucial to the growth of the Fatburger and Buffalo's Express brands throughout the world, and we are certain our brand and menu offerings will be successfully introduced to the Texas market."
The burger and chicken brands, which have more than 200 locations open and under development in 20 countries, have development agreements in place to open 300 additional restaurants around the world in the coming years, according to the release.
Summer has been a busy season for Fat Burger, which not only filed for an initial public offering but also agreed earlier this month to shell out $10.5 million to acquire Homestyle Dining — owner of the Ponderosa Steakhouse and Bonanza Steakhouse brands.
