Fatburger returns to Japan

Fatburger is returning to Japan thanks to a deal with Green Micro Factory Inc. to open four locations over the next five years in Okinawa. The first will open before the end of the year.

Taylor Wiederhorn, chief development officer for FAT Brands, Fatburger's parent company, said Okinawa's tourism and military presence make it a strategic location for the company's return to the Japanese market.

"We see our debut in Okinawa as the first step in our broader growth across the country as we look to win locals over with our custom-built burgers, Fat and Skinny Fries, hand-scooped milkshakes and more," Wiederhorn said in a company press release.
