Although most known for its beef burgers, Fatburger has been catering to vegans lately. The Los Angeles-based chain, owned by Fat Brands, added aplant-based burger last year, dairy-free ice cream earlier this month and is offering a plant-based, dairy-free cheese made by Daiya starting Friday, which is also World Vegan Day.
"After our successful test run in our hometown, Los Angeles, we are thrilled to offer our Fatburger fans around the U.S. a 100 percent plant-based cheeseburger," CEO Andy Wiederhorn said in a company release. "We love incorporating today's trends with Fatburger's traditional fare so consumers can enjoy the Fatburger they know and love, with a dairy-free twist."
FAT Brands, which also owns Buffalo's Cafe, Buffalo's Express, Hurricane Grill & Wings, Yalla Mediterranean, and Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouses, has more than 300 locations open and more than 200 under development around the world.
