Fast casuals draw customers with sidewalks and picnic tables

Battle CreekEnquirer: Restaurants such as the Midtown Grille, Schlotzsky's Deli, Pastrami Joe's and Schuler's Restaurant on Eagle Street are taking advantage of the nice summer weather and serving diners at outdoor tables. "For many people, they say, 'I'm done eating. Now what?' You need something to hold people for more than just their meal," said Scott Powell, economic development manager for the city of Marshall, Mich. "It takes a dedication to slowly build that. It's not a six-month quick fix."
