Fast casual Indian, Asian concept opens 10th unit

October 1, 2013

Masala Wok's stir fry is now available at a second location in the Houston area at 2735 Town Center Blvd., in Sugarland, Texas.

The Sugarland location is owned and operated by Masala Wok Holdings and is the fifth corporate-owned restaurant out of 10 total locations across Texas and Virginia. Masala Wok expects strong consumer interest in the Houston market as it looks to build its brand to fuel further expansion in the area with its Indian and Asian offerings, said Pramod Prodduturi, president

"Masala Wok has had great initial success in Houston, and it's time Sugarland residents got a chance to experience the aromatic spices and sizzling stir fry of our restaurant a little closer to home," Prodduturi said. "We are thrilled to begin our expansion in Sugarland and the surrounding communities."

Masala Wok's menu features traditional Indian meals as well as popular Asian dishes. Traditional Indian items include meats and breads cooked in tandoor (clay oven) and curries prepared with fresh Masala (ground spices). Asian dishes are prepared with fresh vegetables, meats and sauces stir fried in a wok. Masala Wok's guests choose among a variety of meats, fish, and vegetarian options, as well as an array of vegan and gluten-free choices.
