Fast casual catering to accelerate in 2010

A story in USA Today affirms the importance of catering in all segments of the restaurant industry looking to diversify in a stilted economy.

 

The piece used Panera Bread as an example for the fast casual industry, quoting co-COO Rick Vanzura and his idea that catering drives awareness of new products like their new Cobb salad or macaroni and cheese.

 

Wingstop also was noted to be ramping up efforts to cater 100-plus wing orders in the new year; the foray is predicted to be one of its biggest growth initiatives.
