Farmer Boys has hired restaurant industry and human resources veteran Arlene Estrada Petokas to serve as its VP and chief people officer. She is now responsible for executing people strategies to support the California-based chain's operational goals, according to a company press release.
Petokas, who has more than 20 years of human resources experience, was the former director of Human Resources at Del Taco. She has served as the VP of Human Resources at BLD Brands, a restaurant investment and operations company, and held the same title while working for CKE Restaurant Holdings Inc., which owns Carl's Jr., Hardee's Green Burrito and Red Burrito.
"We were impressed with Arlene's extensive experience in human resources and the restaurant industry. She brings a compassionate approach to people and a passion for the restaurant industry," Karen Eadon, president and COO of Farmer Boys, said in the release. "She's managed and implemented successful HR practices at her previous organizations, and we look forward to having her on the Farmer Boys team to develop our business capabilities and lead our team members to function at their greatest level."
Founded in 1981, Farmer Boys operates 92 restaurants in California and Nevada.
