May 12, 2015

Farmer Boys Restaurants is adding two salads to its menu - the Southwest Chicken and the Harvest, according to the release.

"We are excited to present our new farm-fresh salads," said Kristy Foster, Farmer Boys' director of R&D and purchasing. "The Southwest Chicken Salad is loaded with grilled chicken, grilled corn, black beans, cheddar cheese, avocado, house-made salsa, and crunchy tortilla strips. The Harvest salad is a taste explosion piled with grilled chicken, sliced apples, red grapes, candied walnuts and dried fruit topped with a tangy crumbled feta cheese dressing."

In addition to the new salads, Farmer Boys is making other changes, including adding new dine-in bowls for all salads and a new fresh fruit side option.

"We are known for our award-winning burgers but our guests love Farmer Boys salads too," said Karen Eadon, chief marketing officer at Farmer Boys. "The Cobb salad is one of our top selling menu items. We saw an opportunity to diversify our line of salads. The new salads, like the Cobb, deliver a bountiful portion of fresh ingredients and bold flavors - now easier to enjoy in an upgraded salad bowl."

A TV spot featuring Farmer Boys' Scarecrow will showcase the new Southwest Chicken Salad. In the spot, which will air in the Los Angeles and Las Vegas Markets, the Scarecrow is the culinary genius behind the new Farmer Boys salads, according to the release.
