Famous Dave's takes Big Apple bite

MINNEAPOLIS — Famous N.Y. Barbecue LLC president and CEO David Goronkin has announced the company has purchased the right to franchise seven Famous Dave's Legendary Pit Bar-B-Que restaurants in New York City.

The markets covered by the agreement include the five boroughs of New York City plus Westchester County.

Famous N.Y. Barbecue LLC is owned by Sammy Benmoha, a renowned New York City restaurateur who also owns and operates Maxie's Delicatessen and, in partnership with his father Jacob, the Roxy Delicatessen. Both restaurants are in Manhattan's Times Square.

Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que features award-winning hickory-smoked St. Louis-style spare ribs, Texas beef brisket, Georgia chopped pork and a variety of Famous Dave's regional barbecue sauces. Additionally, the menu offers barbecue and country roasted chicken, barbecue sandwiches, burgers and salads.
