Execs behind Native Grill & Wings launch fast casual wing concept

June 19, 2017

The team behind the full-service chain, Native Grill & Wings, has launched Guidepost 13, a fast casual restaurant concept serving oven-grilled wings, tenders and flatbreads, along with self-serve beer and cider taps, according to a press release.

Guidepost is the brainchild of 13 eccentric people with more than 35 years in the traditional wing and sports grill industry said founder Dan Chaon.

"We're thrilled to introduce such an exciting, truly unique concept to the fast-casual segment — there's honestly nothing else out there like Guidepost 13," he said. "At GP13 we march to the beat of our own drum, and our mission is to empower guests and team members to do the same. We are striving to pioneer ‘quick craft casual' dining by providing healthy, uncompromised food, and an exceptional guest experience."

The brand will open its flagship restaurant, a corporate-owned location, this fall in Phoenix and is planning three to five restaurants in the greater Phoenix metro area.

"Phoenix is a natural launching pad for GP13, given its robust restaurant community," Chaon said.

Chaon said he's looking for franchisees, and the initial investment is between $450,000 and $695,000. The average restaurant will be about  2,500 square feet and will seat around 75-90 people, also offering a strong carry-out and catering presence, along with lifestyle patios where applicable. The efficiency of the brand can also reduce the footprint for high-density urban areas along with any captive venue locations, Chaon said.
