Epson has enhanced its TrueOrder Kitchen Display System software, delivering features aimed at helping restaurants streamline operations across complex order streams and multiple locations.

Updates include advanced order-type filtering and improved item labeling customization, providing essential functionality as more fast casual operators rely on digital systems to manage dine-in, delivery and to-go orders, according to Tessa Kohl, product manager for Epson America.

The advanced order filtering allows staff to easily manage a wide variety of incoming order types, including delivery, catering, deferred and in-house orders. New customization features introduce advanced label options and an automated QR code generator. These can be used on bump-and-print layouts for item labeling on cups, boxes, and bags, ensuring clarity for staff, customers and third-party delivery drivers.

"This latest release gives restaurants more control and efficiency, helping them streamline operations across multiple order types and locations while improving communication with staff, customers and delivery drivers," Kohl said in a press release.

Pizza chains approve

The tools are already providing efficiency gains for early users, including Pizza Nova, a chain of over 150 pizzerias in Ontario, Canada.

"With the new order filtering and print layout customization features, we can unlock considerable efficiency gains," Danielle Elias, vice president of business operations for Pizza Nova, said in the release.
