El Pollo Loco opens in Fort Worth, plans sites in Louisiana

On the heels of its opening this week of a new unit in Fort Worth, Texas, El Pollo Loco has announced that it is also partnering with Jason Trotter and Listo Way Group LLC to open two new restaurants in the Lafayette, Louisiana, area by 2018, according to a news release.  

"Louisiana is a natural next step for our brand given our strong and growing presence in Texas," El Pollo Loco President and CEO Steve Sather said in a news release. "We remain focused on accelerating development and continue to seek new franchise candidates like Jason with the resources and capability to develop the brand in new markets."
 
Trotter is a former franchisee of Zoes Kitchen, who opened and operated five restaurants in Florida, Alabama and Louisiana.

El Pollo Loco is seeking additional exclusive multi-unit franchise operators in Northern California, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma.  

Meanwhile, in Fort Worth, a grand opening event is planned for Oct. 29, starting at 11 a.m. at the North Freeway location.
