Einstein Noah Restaurant Group names new CFO

May 11, 2010

Einstein Noah Restaurant Group has named Emanuel "Manny" Hilario as the company's new chief financial officer, effective immediately.

Most recently, Hilario served as the founder and managing director of Koios Path LLC, a management advisory and consulting services company. In that capacity, he assisted several regional restaurant companies in strengthening their balance sheets by helping owners and management enhance brand positioning, improve operations, restructure debt and in some cases, raise new capital.

From 2004 to 2009, Hilario served as CFO of McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants Inc. During his tenure, he built the accounting, finance and legal infrastructure required for the company to complete a successful transition to the public markets. He led the company's initial public offering (IPO) in 2004 and two follow-on public offerings in 2005 and 2006, respectively, and developed and executed the company's investor relations strategy. He also initiated key growth and profitability initiatives for the company, including secret shoppers, e-marketing, Internet reservations, e-commerce and the implementation of balanced scorecards as the foundation for bonus compensation.

From 2000 to 2004, Hilario served as VP and CFO of Angelo and Maxie's Inc., formerly known as Chart House Enterprises Inc. From 1997 to 2000, he was group director of finance and cost management for ACCO Brands Inc., a $1.4 billion wholly owned subsidiary and the office products division of Fortune Brands Inc. Hilario began his career at McDonald's Corp., where he held various positions with increasing responsibility from 1984-1997.

He holds a bachelor's degree in commerce from California's Santa Clara University.
