Einstein Bros makes play for Pizza Day

Sunday may officially be National Pizza Day, but that isn't holding a fast casual bagel brand back from throwing its decidedly "hole-y" self into the game. Indeed, Einstein Bros. Bagels is even asserting that its pizza bagel actually has the best crust around. 

Many pizza brands are going to be getting in on the National Pizza Day act as the week progressed toward the big day next Sunday, Feb. 9. But Einstein Bros. is urging customers to try out its bagel crust all this week, and the brand's Shmear Society Rewards members can even redeem a coupon for two Pizza Bagel slices for $3 with another purchase, according to a press release. 

"Our Pizza Bagels are evidence that bagels are truly the best type of pizza crust," said Chad Thompson, chief baker and vice president of menu innovation at Einstein Bros. Bagels, in the release. "There is nothing better than a fresh-baked bagel slice, topped with a layer of pizza sauce and our meltiest blend of mozzarella, provolone and cheddar, crispy pepperoni and our Italian cheese trio to finish it off."  

The pizza bagel comes in cheese and pepperoni and is available at stores participating in the promotion among Einstein Bros.' 700-plus locations nationally.
