Dunkin' Brands' Government Affairs VP joins NRA as VP of Government Affairs & Policy

Simpson will be a member of the association's executive leadership, reporting to President and CEO Dawn Sweeney.

The National Restaurant Association and Dunkin' Brands Group announced that Cicely Simpson, Dunkin' Brands Group Government Affairs VP, will join the association as its new Executive Vice President of Government Affairs & Policy, starting May 13, 2015.

Simpson has served as Vice President, Government Affairs, for Dunkin' Brands Group for the last seven years. In her new role, Simpson will be a member of the association's executive leadership, reporting to President and CEO Dawn Sweeney. She will lead a team of professionals who advocate for restaurants nationwide to advance, protect and build industry influence and impact, according to the announcement. Simpson will also lead the association's communications and research teams in shaping effective messaging and providing valuable insights for government, industry and the general public on behalf of the association's membership, the joint release said.

"Cicely's experience in the foodservice industry and record of accomplishment with Dunkin' Brands, in combination with her tenure in legislative staff leadership roles, is the ideal combination needed to advocate effectively on our members' behalf as we move into the next stage of our association's growth and evolution. We are truly excited to have Cicely join our team," said Dawn Sweeney, National Restaurant Association president and CEO, in a statement.
