Doner Shack, a Berlin-inspired street-food concept, is opening its flagship and fourth restaurant next month in Glasgow. Seating 65 people, the 3,122-square-foot store is inside Silverburn shopping center and joins its sister locations in Leeds, Manchester and Leicester.
"We only serve ethically sourced ingredients to ensure there is something for every taste and diet," co-Founder Sanjeev Sanghera said in a company press release. "We are also one of the pioneers of vegan street-food in the UK, with a separate menu dedicated to delicious meat-free options. Our doner is 85% lean meat with no artificial fillers or excessive oils — this quality of döner isn't available in the UK — and our chicken shawarma is made up of free-range, gluten-free chicken thighs. We are proud to create products that are not only better quality, but taste incredible too."
Doner Shack, which opened in 2019 in Leeds, serves kebabs using freshly baked traditional Fladenbrot (Turkish flatbread) with homemade signature sauces and a choice of salads, vegan options and currywurst.
Sanjeev, who owns the brand with Laura Bruce, also owns Doner Haus in Glasgow City Centre.
"Glasgow will always be home to us and holds a special place in our hearts," Bruce said in the release. "Having opened multiple restaurants in England we are incredibly proud to be able to open Döner Shack's Scottish debut here in Silverburn, which is our local shopping center. We feel it is a perfect fit for our fresh and tasty brand."
