October 4, 2017

California-based Dog Haus has broken ground in Decatur, Illinois, with plans to open early next year, according to a company press release

Located at 4405 Route 36 East, the restaurant is the second unit under the direction of Goalz Restaurant Group, formed by Shawn Eby, Danny Robinson, David Clark and Wade Lancaster.

Goalz, which also operates Captain D's and Church's Chicken, plans to open 265 restaurants over the next few years across 10 states.

"We are thrilled to be bringing Dog Haus to Decatur. We are very familiar with all the great things going on in this growing city, and know it is one that embraces innovation, which makes it a great place to bring the Dog Haus concept to Illinois,” said David Clark, vice president of operations for Goalz. "We know Dog Haus will bring something special to Decatur with our food and our passion for the community, and we can’t wait to share the excitement with residents during our grand opening celebration."

Dog Haus, which has 26 units, serves gourmet dogs, sausages, burgers, a fried chicken sandwich, sides, shakes, beer and wine.
