Arlington, Virginia-based District Taco is expanding into the Charlotte market, marking its entry into the North Carolina region.
"We're thrilled to introduce the authentic Yucatán style Mexican cuisine to the Charlotte area," Chris Medhurst, president and COO, said in a company press release. "At District Taco, we really do set ourselves apart in our commitment to quality ingredients and exceptional service, and we think Charlotte is the perfect market for us to establish our presence further and contribute to Charlotte's thriving local dining scene."
Founded by Osiris Hoil and his neighbor, Marc Wallace, District Taco originated from a food cart serving breakfast tacos in 2009. The brand now has 15 locations and leverages online ordering, a custom mobile app and a loyalty program.
Last year, District Taco surpassed its franchise development goals, opening two units and signing three franchise development agreements in the New York, New Jersey and Florida markets. The brand will open at least six locations this year in East Coast markets and expects to reach 150 total units by 2030.
The chain is seeking franchise partners, who are multi-unit operators or senior restaurant professionals with experience operating five or more restaurants.
