The holiday season is off to a great start for Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, which surpassed $1 million dollars in sales on the day before Thanksgiving, according to a company press release. In addition, sales exceeded a 50.1 percent increase year over year for the week of Thanksgiving with more than 19,000 holiday turkeys and hams sold system wide.
"The response to our holiday meal offerings has completely exceeded our expectations – this is an exciting milestone for our 72-year old company," said Roland Dickey Jr., president and CEO of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc.
This year, Dickey's Barbecue offered smoked and Cajun fried turkeys, whole beef briskets, spiral cut and barbecue honey hams. Complete holiday meals were also available and included traditional cornbread dressing, gravy, baked potato casserole, green beans along with 12 buttery rolls. Holiday proteins sold out in many locations.
"With the economy finally showing signs of stability, consumers were looking for quality and affordable holiday meal options and we delivered." said Dickey. "We're now gearing up for round two of holiday sales."
