Dickey's Barbecue has opened two of eight scheduled virtual kitchens in San Francisco and is launching locations soon in Asia.
Northern California residents and father-and-son restaurateurs John and Max Lee opened the San Francisco kitchens in November after signing development agreements to open seven other virtual kitchens in the bay area and one off-premise unit in Las Vegas, according to a company press release.
In addition, the duo is setting its sights on bringing Dickey's to the Southeast Asian countries of Myanmar, formally known as Burma, and the Philippines. Earlier this month, the Lees entered into a letter of intent with Dickey's to develop close to 100 locations in both countries with the first one scheduled to open next year in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.
"We're proud to have this family team join our family brand and we look forward to a successful partnership sharing our fan-favorite barbecue with millions of new guests here in the U.S. and across the globe," Laura Rea Dickey, CEO of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants Inc., said in the release.
Dickey's operates over 500 locations in the U.S. and UAE.
