Dickey's opens new restaurants in Michigan and Colorado

Dickey's announced today the opening of two new restaurants, one in Ferndale, Mich., and one in Castle Rock, Colo.

The Ferndale, Mich. store, located at 23123 Woodward Ave., will open July 24 at 11 a.m. It is owned by Jason Irvine and Craig Southerland.

"We would eat at Dickey's Barbecue in Troy all the time with co-workers from Chase and really enjoyed the food," said first time franchise owner, Jason Irvine, in a company press release. "When our office closed, we wanted to start our own business and Dickey's Barbecue just made sense because Michigan's market wasn't saturated with barbecue."

The first 50 guests at the store on July 24 will receive gift cards worth up to $50. On July 25, the new Dickey's Barbecue Pit will offer all day merchandise giveaways including t-shirts, magnets and more. On July 26, local radio station 100.3 WNIC will be onsite from noon to 2 p.m. when the location is serving $2 pulled pork barbecue sandwiches. Also, one winner will be chosen for a $500 gift card and three winners will receive free barbecue for an entire year.

The Castle Rock, Colo., store, located at 323 Metzler Drive, Suite 101, will also open on July 24.

"I love that Dickey's Barbecue is so family friendly as a popular fast-casual restaurant, and I think both qualities are going to make it successful in Castle Rock," said first time owner, Seth Warren. "Most people here have never tasted genuine slow smoked Texas-style barbecue and I think it'll be a big hit."

On July 26, radio station 98.5 KYGO will be onsite from noon to 2 p.m. This location will also be serving $2 pulled pork barbecue sandwiches. A winner will be chosen for a $500 gift card and three winners will receive free barbecue for an entire year.
