Dickey's opens last location of 2015

Dickey's Barbecue Pit is celebrating the impending New Year with the opening of its fifth location in Rockford, Illinois.

Dickey's Barbecue Pit is celebrating the new year's impending arrival with the opening of its newest location in Rockford, Illinois, according to a company press release.

"Dickey's is expanding rapidly throughout the Midwest," said Roland Dickey Jr., CEO of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants. "The Dickey family is proud to open our fifth location in Illinois and congratulate Ryan and Lana McPeek on their grand opening."

Originally from Stockton, Ryan and Lana McPeek were dairy farmers for 17 years until their farm suffered a barn fire. Since then, they have farmed beef and worked in corporate careers but said they are now ready to run their own Dickey's.

"Rockford is a nice city with a lot of industry," Ryan said. "We are excited to open Dickey's to share delicious barbecue with this great community."
