It may be Halloween, but Dickey's Barbecue Restaurant is already gearing up for Thanksgiving. Last year, the barbecue chain broke sales records with more than $2 million in system-wide sales during Thanksgiving weekend. CEO Roland Dickey Jr. expects higher sales this year.
"Last year, we had a tremendous response to our holiday family meals and were thrilled that so many families enjoyed Dickey's Barbecue for their Thanksgiving celebrations," he said. "This year our restaurants around the country are already taking orders for our holiday meals including our Smoked and Cajun Fried Turkeys — consumers are craving variety along with traditional holiday favorites."
In the spirit of giving, Dickey's is also offering a few tips on putting a Texas Twist on any Thanksgiving feast.
Plan a Thanksgiving picnic. Set up your meal outside and feast like the Pilgrims did. Set up a grill or smoker for your meats and sides.
Everyone likes options. This year offer multiple holiday proteins to go with your Smoked Turkey like tender beef brisket and fall-off-bone ribs.
Sweeten the deal. Nothing says Southern Thanksgiving like Sweet Tea.
Put some heat on the side. If you are tired of traditional sides, add a kick to your holiday meal with jalapeno or barbecue beans.
