Dickey's Barbecue pit to open Nebraska restaurant

Dickey's Barbecue Pit is opening in Kearney, Neb., thisspring by franchise operator Richard Cochran and his wife Cheryl.

"This area is right in the middle of the country; all types of food are enjoyed here. We feel it's time people here got a chance to try a great barbecue restaurant," Cochran said.

Prior to signing on to be a part of Dickey's, Cheryl worked in the school system and Richard was the vice president of Schwan's.

Dickey's Barbecue Pit opened its first location in Dallas in 1941. Dickey's began franchising in 1994 and has continued to grow across the country. Dickey's currently has more than 200 locations in 36 states nationwide.
