Dickey's Barbecue was born and bred in Dallas in 1941, so it makes sense that the Texas-based barbecue concept is celebrating the opening of its 300th location in its hometown airport, Love Field. The chain will open the milestone unit April 16 as the first phase of the historic Love Field Modernization Project, designed to create a cohesive, modern facility that will serve the needs of Dallas citizens and travelers, said Roland Dickey Jr., president and CEO of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants Inc.
"We're extremely proud to be opening our 300th location at Love Field," he said. "We look forward to introducing travelers at Love Field to our authentic slow smoked Texas barbecue and southern hospitality."
The new terminal will replace a large amount of unused and outdated space with modern and efficient facilities, according to a press release. The three original concourses will be demolished and consolidated into one convenient, centrally located concourse for all airlines. In addition, the Love Field Modernization Project will more than double the amount of available airport concessions.
