Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants is expanding its reach in Omaha with the opening of its first location there last month under Franchisee Joe Nguyen. The chain will open seven additional locations later this year, according to a company press release.
"We've seen a groundswell of interest in the Omaha market and growth is showing no signs of slowing down," said Roland Dickey, Jr., president and CEO of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants. "Much of the new development is from franchisees planning to open multiple locations. We provide a valuable franchise opportunity and support system that are second to none."
The 375-unit restaurant chain has maintained growth, adding more than 200 stores in just two years and has more than 150 stores in development, according to the release.
Franchisee Steven Swift is a retiree relocating from Texas to Omaha to expand the Dickey's Barbecue brand in the area. Brandon Kosek, a former McDonald's franchisee, will be developing Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants in Bellevue and Council Bluffs.
"I did my research and was impressed with Dickey's concept of impressive growth at a low start-up cost," Kosek said. "I'm originally from the Omaha area and can't wait to share the authentic Texas barbecue with the community."
Dickey's Barbecue Pit opened its first location in Dallas in 1941, and began franchising in 1994.
