Motomaki, a fast casual sushi restaurant that serves customizable "burrito-style" sushi rolls and make-your-own rice bowls, is opening in the fall at Denver Pavilions on the 16th Street Mall in the heart of downtown Denver.
The 3,300-square-foot restaurant, which includes a patio, will be the first Motomaki in Denver. It has units in Boulder and Lakewood, Colorado, according to a company press release.
The restaurant will join the merchant mix of 40 other restaurants, shops and entertainment venues at Denver Pavilions, said Mark Sidell, president of Gart Properties, the developer of the venue.
"Motomaki will be a delicious addition to downtown," he said in the release. "Adding Motomaki to Denver Pavilions is consistent with Gart Properties' strategy of building a synergistic mix of high-impact restaurant, retail and entertainment concepts that attract Metro area residents, visitors and employees."
Motomaki is operated under the Hapa Franchise Group Inc. umbrella and is a sister company to The Hapa Group, which has four full-service Hapa Sushi restaurants in Colorado.
"The most important consideration for us is location," Motomaki owner Mark Van Grack said. "Opening our newest restaurant at Denver Pavilions will help us tap into a large, growing new market. Downtown Denver is a place where people want to live, work and play, and Denver Pavilions is one of the city's most desirable locations for new and expanded retail and restaurant opportunities."
