Marco's Coal-Fired Pizza, the Denver-based pizzeria restaurant with locations in the Ballpark District and Inverness, announced it is changing its name to Racca's Pizzeria Napoletana. The name change and new brand identit, come as a result of the restaurant's desire to further embrace its authentic Italian pizza-making methods and demonstrate its passion for Neapolitan pizza, according to a company press release.

Co-founders and proprietors Mark and Kristy Dym opened the first location near Coors Field in 2008, then its Englewood/Inverness location in 2011. Racca's plans to expand its reach in 2016 by opening new restaurants at Colorado Mills shopping mall in Lakewood and in the Old Yellowstone District in Casper, Wyoming.

"Our restaurant started with the simple idea that passion makes great pizza," said Mark Dym. "That thought process clearly hasn't changed and never will. Racca's Pizzeria will focus on delivering an authentic, award-winning Neapolitan pizza experience just as Marco's Coal-Fired Pizza did for so many years."

Racca's is the only VPN certified (Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana) restaurant in Colorado, the release stated. The Naples, Italy-based association gives special designation to pizzerias who meet strict requirements that respect the tradition of the art of Neapolitan pizza making including the verification of ingredients, processes and wood-fired oven techniques.
