Delivery-only wing concept launches in time for Super Bowl

Americans will eat 1.38 billion chicken wings this Super Bowl Sunday, and Robert Earl, founder of Virtual Dining Concepts, is getting a piece of that action by opening Wing Squad. The delivery-only restaurant serves wings, sides and sweets exclusively via delivery services including GrubHub, DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Postmates, according to a company press release.  

Wing Squad’s initial rollout includes Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Palo Alto, Orlando, San Diego, Seattle and Washington D.C.  with additional locations coming soon, Earl said in the release.

"Food delivery has quickly become an everyday occurrence for many people, so I created Wing Squad as part of my Virtual Dining Concepts network," he said. "Wing Squad will be delivery only, which allows us to launch from a wide range of locations.  With this business model, the sky is the limit."

Earl has slashed traditional labor and overhead costs by utilizing existing restaurants and delivery services, which allows Wing Squad to spend more money on the food. It's wings, for example, have no antibiotics or preservatives, but are still affordable, he said.  The unique and on-brand packaging will capture the diner's attention by providing an Instagram-worthy photo opportunity along with a great meal, whether it’s for lunch, the big game, a study break or late-night snack.  

The online menu at Wing Squad offers six wing flavors, including BBQ, Honey Garlic, Cajun, Garlic Parmesan, Sweet Chili and Buffalo, It also has mac and cheese, two salads, chips, celery and carrots and dressings. As for dessert options, the menu will include chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookie or chocolate chip brownies.

Virtual Dining Concepts also provides a proprietary online delivery platform, marketing and other services to restaurateurs seeking to go digital.
