Freebirds World Burrito has hired Dawn Gillis as Chief Technology Officer to help strengthen the restaurant's marketing and operations technology stack, which includes a new website and app to support the demand of online ordering, according to a press release.
"Last year introduced challenges that allowed us to innovate and problem solve like never before. Our investments in technology are helping us adapt and grow in response to the pandemic," Alex Eagle, CEO, Freebirds World Burrito said in the release. "With a higher volume of online orders than ever before, we are excited for Dawn to help innovate and evolve our infrastructure even more to create the best consumer experience possible."
Prior to joining Freebirds World Burrito, Gillis led digital operations as CTO of Austin-based Torchy's Tacos and was the former senior director of acquisition integration IT at 7-Eleven. In her 14 years at 7-Eleven, Gillis implemented technology-driven data exchanges that supported operations and financial functions and designed an agile operations/funding model to maintain new technologies the company inherited from acquisitions.
"Freebirds is one of the most beloved fast casual brands in the industry and has maintained a standard of excellence with craveable flavor pairings and menu innovation. As a company, they are known to take good care of their team and customers. I hope to grow Freebirds' continued success by supporting its growing technology infrastructure," said Gillis in the release.
