Dave's Hot Chicken hosted a trio of openings Friday, including its first Houston location and second in the state of Texas. The store, 12161 Westheimer, features a drive-through, near 20-foot-high ceilings and outdoor seating, according to a company press release.
The Los Angeles-based chain also opened in Santa Rosa, California, at 2240 Mendocino Ave. It boasts generous outdoor dining space, along with custom interior graphics to reinforce the brand's commitment to delivering "out of this world" craveable hot chicken, Bill Phelps, Dave's Hot Chicken's CEO, said in the release.
Lastly, Santa Ana residents welcomed a Dave's location at 3332 South Bristol St., which features a patio along with a mural depicting Dave, the company's rubber chicken, decked out in a Santa Ana fire department uniform.
"Our founders started Dave's as a parking lot pop-up restaurant in Hollywood with a portable fryer and picnic tables from their backyards just three short years ago. We are ecstatic to be opening these new California and Houston locations," Phelps said.
Dave's Hot Chicken has sold the rights to nearly 500 franchise locations in the U.S. and Canada and will open an additional 25 locations this year.
