Gator Nation is getting a fresh taste of Italy when DalMoros Fresh Pasta To Go celebrates the opening of its newest U.S. franchise on Thursday, Feb. 19. Located at 16 NW 18th St., the restaurant marks the brand's first venture onto a college campus, situated directly across from the University of Florida's Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
"We are ready to feed Gator Nation," David Caruso Jr. said in a company press release. "Gainesville is the perfect location for DalMoros, where we know college students will love the taste and convenience of our fresh pasta to go."
The Gainesville site joins a growing list of Florida locations, including St. Petersburg, Tampa, Delray Beach and Orlando. The franchise, managed by the Caruso family, also operates in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, with planned expansions for New York City, Austin and Washington, D.C.
The location will be open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with extended hours on Friday and Saturday until 2:30 a.m. to cater to the late-night college crowd. Third-party delivery services are expected to launch in the coming weeks.
DalMoros specializes in a fast casual approach to traditional Italian fare, serving scratch-made pasta and sauces in portable to-go boxes. The menu includes various pasta shapes, homemade sauces and toppings, as well as sides like garlic breadsticks, meatballs and gluten-friendly options.
Patrons may also watch the restaurant's signature pasta machine in action throughout the day.
