"To the extent that there is growth locally, much of it is in the "fast casual" subcategory. That's where brands such as Panera Bread, Chipotle and Mooyah offer foods with more expensive ingredients than those typically found in fast food. The price is higher than for fast food but lower than at many casual dining restaurants. Mooyah has opened seven restaurants since March, doubling the chain's size. Richardson-based Wingstop plans to open 65 U.S. restaurants this year, down from 77 last year." |
