Dagwoods plans Atlanta expansion

ATLANTA Dagwood's Sandwich Shoppes, a fast-casual sandwich concept inspired by the  'Blondie' comic strip character Dagwood Bumstead, have announced plans to franchise in the metroAtlantamarket.
 
Blondie comic strip creator Dean Young and company chief executive Lamar Berry have selected  entrepreneurs Mark Detrick, Tony Ratliff, Kirk Diamond and Todd Long to serve as market partner territory developers of the region. The market partners will ensure the development and opening of nearly 100 franchise locations over the next five years, according to the company.
 
Detrick and Ratliff will lead a Dagwood's Sandwich Shoppes franchise opportunity seminar for prospective franchisees June 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn inDuluth, Ga.
 
"At Dagwood's, our goal is to hand-select a limited number of successful local business leaders to serve as franchisees so we can effectively deliver our unique restaurant experience to consumers all over the world," said Frank Brown, senior VP of Development for Dagwood's Sandwich Shoppes.
