Currito, which signed nine deals last year to open 16 locations in Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio, is entering several markets by year's end. They include Indianapolis in March, Nashville in June and Dayton, Lexington and Knoxville in Q4.
"These new locations are a tremendous step forward in Currito's expansion journey," Joe Lanni, co-founder of Currito, said in a company press release. "In 2024, we proudly introduced our healthy, creative takes on cuisines from around the world to new communities, thanks to the dedication of our outstanding franchise partners. Each location represents an opportunity to build strong, local connections and deliver fresh, quality-driven dining experiences that make a difference in people's lives."
Potential owners receive the benefit of white space in untapped markets, streamlined operations including an easy opening process, minimal buildout requirements, reduced labor and a store AUV of 1.33 million, said Lanni, who with his brother, John, founded Currito in 2005. Their father, Nick Lanni, created the Great Steak and Potato Company and grew it to over 250 locations before selling it. The brothers also created the Thunderdome Restaurant Group, which houses several brands, including Bakersfield, The Eagle, Krueger's Tavern, SoHi, Maplewood, Pepp & Delores and CityBird.
Currito, which has 23 locations, is targeting territories for expansion in Columbus and Cleveland, Ohio; Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, Indiana; Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee; Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte, North Carolina, and Orlando and Jacksonville, Florida. The initial franchise fee for a Currito is $30,000 for single-unit locations and $25,000 for multiple units.
