Cracked Eggery has opened in Washington, D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood. Designed by local architecture and design firm //3877, the 1,609-square-foot space marks the second flagship location for the Cracked Eggery brand, which has a food truck and a Cleveland Park location, according to a company press release.

Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Cracked Eggery features a curved ordering counter, offset by a floating, partial-height wall. A bar stool area and banquette seating sit below high ceilings scaled by shelves with pops of greenery. The retro, marquee-style lit signage guides the eye upward to the retail canopy, providing a retro diner feel.

The design also playfully incorporated the egg theme throughout the interiors, with features such as cracked egg graphics, a custom graphic wall, a colorful yellow backdrop of the kitchen space and egg-inspired light fixtures designed by JVA. Once an order is placed and picked up, guests may head over to the space's function counter, providing an area for coffee finishing and grabbing sandwich condiments.

With the safety of restaurant patrons and employees being a top priority, the team added measures to keep the space clean. Touchless menus are available, as are scannable QR codes alongside large-scale menus. Polished concrete flooring, porcelain tile, metal, glass, and vinyl wall coverings have inherent anti-bacterial properties and can endure frequent sanitization, according to the release.
