Cowboy Chicken continues South Texas push

March 7, 2014

Cowboy Chicken has signed a five-store deal with Alvie Capital LLC, headed by Alvie Britton, to expand the brand to South Texas, starting with the city of McAllen, according to a company press release.

Britton, after graduating from University of Texas at Austin in 1982, joined his family in operating two family owned businesses in McAllen, Texas. In 1999, he ventured into the restaurant industry and opened his first of five Denny's locations. His original location was the highest volume store in the central United States for several years, according to the release. In December of 2013, Britton sold the franchise, and with 15 years of experience in the restaurant industry, he began looking for his next investment, the release said.

Britton plans to begin his development with a location in McAllen, the hub of the Rio Grande Valley.

"Welcoming franchise owners like Alvie into the Cowboy Chicken family brings me great pleasure," said Sean Kennedy, Cowboy Chicken president. "His knowledge and experience as a restaurant owner/operator will play a key role in successfully growing the Cowboy Chicken brand and keeping our guest the number one priority."
