Cosi turns in soft Q2

DEERFIELD, Ill. — Cosi Inc. said heavy rainfall along the East Coast contributed to a soggy second quarter for the sandwich chain.

 

Same-store sales rose 0.1 percent, while Cosi-owned restaurant revenue rose 5.9 percent to $32.4 million.

 

Kevin Armstrong, Cosi's president and chief executive officer, said the company had sales growth in breakfast and lunch but a decline at dinner.
