Cosi CEO steps down

DEERFIELD, Ill. — Bakery café chain Cosi Inc. announced that chief executive Kevin Armstrong has resigned. Armstrong cited health reasons for his resignation.

According to a news release, Cosi's board of directors has named Robert Merritt, former chief financial officer of Outback Steakhouse, as the interim CEO, effective immediately.

Cosi's board has appointed a search committee to nationally recruit a permanent CEO.
