Corner Bakery Café has signed a new multi-unit development agreement with Holm Bake LLC, headquartered in Winter Park, Fla., which plans to open its first of 17 restaurants in the Orlando area next year and the remaining sites over the following six years, according to a company press release.
The new franchisee joins a roster of 29 Corner Bakery franchise partners. With 55 open cafes and development commitments for more than 350 locations, Corner Bakery continues on its goal to more than double its U.S. footprint in the next three years. Earlier this month, the company announced plans to open 18 new restaurants in the Tennessee and Kentucky areas.
"Choosing to partner with an established fast casual concept like Corner Bakery Café was an easy decision for us," said Eric Holm, Managing Member at Holm Bake, LLC, which also owns and operates 30 Golden Corral restaurants. "The longevity of the brand and its proven success by staying very competitive with other brands in the growing bakery cafe category is very attractive to us. We are thrilled about the opportunity to introduce the Orlando community to Corner Bakery Café and confident that everything from the freshly-prepared menu to the comfortable and friendly atmosphere will make our cafes a welcome addition in neighborhoods across Central Florida."
Corner Bakery is also looking to expand to new markets in Alabama, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio and South Carolina, among others, according to the release.
"We're excited to announce this great news regarding our latest development agreement, and expanding the reach of our signature neighborhood bakery cafe experience into new markets such as Orlando," said Gregg Koffler, VP of Franchise Sales for Corner Bakery Café. "Neighborhoods and tourism are an important part of the Orlando community, and we are confident that our cafes will quickly become a favorite for both locals and tourists in this new market. Orlando is the perfect place to continue our expansion plans as the brand looks to numerous new territories, creating even more fans."
