DALLAS — Corner Bakery Cafe will deploy catering vans across the country today and deliver food to community volunteers in action, kicking off its "Catering to Our Community," program, a month-long nationwide initiative showing thanks to America's charitable workers and volunteers.
From March 12 to April 12, Corner Bakery is encouraging its guests and neighbors to visitwww.CateringToOurCommunity.comto enter the Catering to Our Community Contest for the chance to win a complimentary catered breakfast or lunch for their favorite charitable organization.
More than 100 non-profit organizations, one per participating cafe, will be randomly selected and winners will be announced during National Volunteer Appreciation Week, the week of April 19.
Nearly 35 volunteer organizations across the nation will participate in today's program kick-off, with recipients ranging from The Women's Center in Fort Worth, Texas, to Para Los Niños in Los Angeles, Meals on Wheels in Washington D.C., and Chicago Cares. Volunteers at each organization will receive Corner Bakery's signature catering items like the "Corner Classic," which includes an assortment of signature sandwiches, fresh salads and a sweets basket.
