Coney Island Hot Weiner Shop, a 93-year-old brand, has entered the Dallas/Fort Worth market through a franchise agreement with Southlake, Texas based Coneylicious LLC, according to a press release. The agreement between CVE, LLC, franchisor of Coney Island Hot Weiner Shop, and Coneylicious covers the DFW counties of Dallas, Wise, Denton, Collin, Hunt, Delta, Parker, Tarrant, Rockwall, Kaufman, Johnson and Ellis for potentially 100 locations.
In early January, Coney Island Hot Weiner Shop announced expansion plans into the Houston, College Station and Austin, Texas markets through an agreement with SoTex Brand Management LLC. The agreements create the potential for more than 180 locations in Texas.
"Expanding into Texas is a logical step, and we are expanding the concept the way we want to now," Vicki Economou, CVE, LLC managing member said in the press release.
"This is just not another brand to me, this is my youth, My Dad Bob taking to me the Original Coney Island Hot Weiner Shop in 1977 when we moved to Tulsa. This is my passion," said Rob Snead, vice president of franchise development at DCR Management LLC. DCR Management LLC was founded in Tulsa, Oklahoma by Camille and David Rutkauskas and is the franchising vehicle for Coney Island Hot Weiner Shop, which was founded by Greek immigrant Christ Economou in 1926 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
