Clay Dover leaving Velvet Taco

Velvet Taco CEO Clay Dover is leaving Velvet Taco to take on a new opportunity.

"It's an amazing opporunity that I cannot share at this time," he told FastCasual.com.

Before joining the Dallas-based brand as president in 2017, Dover was chief marketing officer for Pei Wei Asian Diner. In 2019, Velvet Taco promoted Dover to CEO.

Under his tenure, the brand grew from four to over 50.

As of press time, Velvet Taco had not reached out to FastCasual's request for comment regarding who would be the chain's new CEO.
