Ike's Love & Sandwiches, a 70-unit San Francisco-based sandwich chain, has solidified a multi-unit franchise deal with NFL star John Miller, a guard for the Cincinnati Bengals, and his father, Johnnie Green. The father-son duo plans to open 10 storefronts throughout Broward County and Miami-Dade County, Florida, over the next seven years, according to a company press release. The first unit will open next year in Miami.
A former 3-year starter for the Buffalo Bills, Miller recently signed an agreement to play for the Cincinnati Bengals through 2021. Although his football career isn't over, Miller decided to partner with his father to invest in Ike's.
"My father and I immediately fell in love with Ike's Love & Sandwiches when we visited its San Francisco location, and saw a golden opportunity to bring it to our home state of Florida," Miller said in the release. "Ike's Love & Sandwiches is different than any other restaurant concept in Florida right now."
Ike's, which serves more than 700 sandwiches with its signature "Ike's Dirty Secret Sauce" baked into the bread, was founded by Ike Shehadeh in 2007. The chain now has units in California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas and Hawaii with additional locations opening soon in Chicago, Utah, California and Texas.
Shehadeh is seeking experienced franchisees to help him continue expanding in the top 40 media markets throughout North America, according to the release.
